EElement One:  A Poem by Jenny Caffery ©

I began as a match. A rigid twig of a thing – not much to look at,
merely sitting around full of potential to consume or to illuminate.
Created with one soul purpose:
Ignite.
My Maker (yes, my matchmaker)
Struck me
during Holy Week
“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…”
I was filled with warmth like a delicious toddy was seeping
syrup-like sweetening my everything. Intoxicating.
There is the occasional burning sensation
as pieces of me sizzle in the spotlight of His scrutiny.
I crackle with restlessness and He lets me
have my space. I eat at it greedily.
Sometimes I become a fury.
You are just kindling.
I inhale
Devouring you.
I exhale
Disintegrating you.
Sometimes I become all light
and no substance –
a big ball of self-important
Gas.
My creator picks me up
After all the fireworks and the spectacle-
When I am all scorched and my tears
Threaten to flicker me out.
He places me in His round hearth
And gently blows on my withered embers.
He contains me just enough.
I am as all life – I require room to breathe or
I extinguish.
He reminds me that I am incandescent.
He reminds me of my soul purpose:
Ignite.
You there –
You look like you’re looking for something.
Need a light?

Supplies can be purchased at the Market Street Frame shop in downtown Cheraw.

Element One - the painting and the poem - can be found on our tracts printed from 48HourPrint.com.  If you have not tried this company, you need to check them out.  They do high quality prints of business cards, postcards and so much more.  I found them by doing a Google search.  I was extremely pleased with their work.  The staff was so professional and walked me through the steps to get my tracts printed.  I won't use anyone else for my  business card printing needs.

Send me a line and I will be happy to mail you the Element One card so you can feel the quality of the card and the emotion of the message.
